Title: Fat Chance
Author: Simon Gray
Genre: Non-fiction/biography?
Publisher: faber & faber
Rating: 9/10
Synopsis: An account of the West End play Cell Mates, which ended after a very short run in 1995, when actor Stephen Fry left the play after a bad review and disappeared. As fears for his safety began to rise, the media started to scorn the production, which metamorphosed into a 'bad play' after getting generally good reviews. Playwright and director Simon Gray recounts his personal experiences of a production that seems to have been jinxed from the start.
